My very first blog post. I never intended to do a blog with Butch Unicorn, but actually my head is bursting with 'stuff' and I thought this might be a good idea to get some of it down on 'paper' and clear some space, so here goes. <\/p>
My head is constantly filled with ideas, buzzing around like a swarm of bees on acid and sometimes I spend more time discounting\/dismissing designs & ideas before they even hit the page than I do on the ones that actually make it. Does anyone else go through that? I suppose that's the analyst in me. Yes, there is a joke in there about anal in analyst.<\/p>
I have a list of ideas and topics, which range from a quote I've seen or heard, through to a fully fledged line by line design structure. Most of which will be discounted as I work through how it will actually look at the end. Is this common in the creative world or am I shite? <\/p>
One thing I do know. I love it. LOVE that initial pop of inspiration in my brain and sending myself an email or taking a pic of an image to remind myself to refer back to 'something'. Whether or not that idea will make it is irrelevant. It sparks something in me and brings a smile to my face every time, and a dirty snort if it's rude (which inevitably it is!). While I don't regret any career choices I've had till this point, I do wish I'd encouraged my creative side earlier in life. <\/p>
However, we are where we are and I am loving what I'm doing. <\/p>
I wanted to post a selection of the things I have been working on this week, but you can only post one pic at a time...pah! So i'll choose one. <\/p>
I saw a poster in Seville (in Spanish clearly) on my way to the train station, so I hastily took a blurred photo and tried to translate the meaning. It's not verbatim (phew, copyright anyone?) but I love the sentiment.<\/p>
